Delaware District 3 hosts the WORLD
SERIES FOR LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT.
Little League Baseball, Inc. is the largest youth sports program
in the World with 2,800,000 children participating between 5
and 18 years of age.
The participants are from USA West, USA East,
USA South West, USA South, USA Central, Latin America, Europe,
Asia Pacific and Canada. Delaware District 3 also particpates
with a host team. The age of the players are 14, 15 and 16. All
of the games will be held at the Lower Sussex Little League Complex
in Roxanna Delaware, USA.
Little League’s 8-Year Television Contract Extension with ESPN Includes Televising Senior League Softball World Series from Lower Sussex
SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. (Jan. 4, 2007) – Little League International has signed an eight-year television contract extension with ESPN, expanding national coverage to include all eight of its baseball and softball world series tournaments, including the championship game of the Senior League Softball World Series at the Lower Sussex Little League Complex in Sussex County. Stephen D. Keener, president and chief executive officer of Little League Baseball and Softball, made the announcement today at Little League International in Williamsport, Pa., along with John Skipper, executive vice president, content, ESPN, Inc., in New York.
The 2007 Senior League Softball World Series, for 14-16 year olds, is scheduled for Aug. 5-11. The final game on Aug. 11 (at a time to be determined) will be televised nationally on ESPN or ESPN2 for the first time since Sussex County began hosting the tournament in 2004. A Very Sad Day for the Softball World Series

The 2006 Senior League Softball World Series commenced on August 6th, 2006. On August 12, 2006, in the Championship game, the East Team (USA East) from MILTON PA Little League won the tournament with a 3 to 2 victory over Nanticoke (District III). The 2005 Senior League Softball World Series commenced Sunday August 7th, 2005. On Saturday, August 13th, 2005, the Citrus Park Little League team, from Tampa Florida (USA South), won
the 2005 Championship, with a 1 to 0 win over Latin America's representative, Cardona y Rosario Little League, Puerto Rico.
